View Full Version : 3300 resetting after analogue recording
Hi
Just wondering has anyone discovered that when recording to the 3300 using the analogue cable (not the usb) that sometimes the fone resets.
Im not sure whether it could be a software problem or something else. Anyone shed any light onto this.

Can I ask you something first? Did that happen after you recorded from the analogue cable, the battery went empty, then you plug a new bat, and your fon already hangs or reset?
If Yes, then you must reformat the MMC card of your fone, coz it already has an free space allocation error. Like a corrupted diskette. It already happened to my fon. Just plug the usb cable on the pc, then format it with Win98 or WinXp.
If No, then you have a damaged fon, or MMC...

I Also experience this resseting after i install applications/games from my MMC card. This thing happens after i have opened files from my memory card. Hhhmm.. i guess it has a corrupted block alright. I also has this problem that after i transfer mp3's to the MMC, the settings on my profile resets to its default tones. Does this something to do with the corrupted MMC? Thanks anyways.

Light alright.
I've had similar problem just today with Nokia 5510 (which has no removable media, just built-in 64 megs and USB):
1. I've recorded something - ok!
2. I've added stuff from Windows - ok!
3. I started recording again and I heard constant "beeeep" from the headphones and when I pressed "Stop" the phone resetted itself.
4. The FAT is corrupted - all the files play only sec or two from beginning!
I've also had corrupted FAT after deleting a file via the menus of 5510. In those cases the problem source can be traced back to Windows. If you modify the memory in Windows, further memory handling on the phone causes corrupted FAT. I don't know how to fix it. Do you?
I'm a musician and naturally hate losing the notes I've recorded. I've tried looking for recovery soft, but at least one didn't count this USB drive among those that can be fixed. It was some logical vs. physical drive thing. Win2000 tells that the "drive" has 12-bit FAT (and doesn't support defragmentation).
I would need to know if the memory can be "dumped" or read in raw via USB? It that is possible, so should be running a "fixdisk" on the drive or the image file. Memory cards are better, because they can be sticked into card readers, which usually provide sector-level reading - and good chance of 100% recovery.
