If you look on your task bar on the bottom right there should a mobile phone icon. dubble click and a nokia connection manager comes up click on the serial cable icon (1st icon Yellow 1) and choose which com port u wanna use and click appy then see what happens

Right two things

1. this is for DCT-3 phone and not DCT-4
2. to use a PC suite you have to use Nokia's USB cable and driver.

Hello there :)

The seller was right. The cable "will work with mobile phone" but - NOT with Nokia PC-Suite!

That program requires to either have the DKU-5 original data cable (or a compatible fake) or IR on the computer.

The DKU-5 is that crazy expensive cable which connects Pop-Port phones to USB on the computer. It, and it's driver (important! Fake DKU-5's usually come without that driver CD!) must absolutely be installed BEFORE PC-Suite, otherwise it won't accept the connection.

Since you got a serial cable there, forget about PC Suite. You may use Kazaa or another file-sharing program to get a cracked version of Mobile Media Browser (MobiMB). Don't ask here for such a cracked version because warez, and asking for them, are not allowed here on NokiaFREE. But Kazaa is a good way to get such stuff.

MobiMB, so have i been told, will work with such a serial cable. And it can, same as PC Suite, be used for uploading images, ringtones and games to the phone.

Kind regards.....
