amazing. i barely got a chance to play with all the little gadgets and the phone has passed away.
this is an excert from an email i sent to nokia customer service:
"about 3 hours ago today i was using a voice recorder.
i made 3 minutes worth of recording befour it stoped and asked me for a label.
i pressed OK for the default 'Recording'.
i then proceeded to review the recording and played it begining to end.
i erased the recording.

instead of being brought back to the recorder options, the phone left me in the Recording list, with a blank list ofcourse.
i went back to the main menu, and retraced back into the recording options.
i went into Recording List.
instead of getting a 'No recordings' with a flashing exclamation mark, it brought me again into the BLANK list.
i shrugged it off as a minor glitch and went back to the recording options to make a NEW recording.
when i started recording, instead of a regular 3:00/3:00 counter. it now displayed 4:15/4:15.

i realized something was badly wrong and stopped the recording right at about 4:10/4:15. i went into the recording list and i pressed PLAY.
The phone froze completely. after a moment it rebooted.
i went back into the recording options as soon as i entered it the phone froze again.
it restarted, i went around through other options. the phone was fine. i went back into the recording the phone froze again.
restarted. i decided to leave the recording alone for now.
i then noticed that the clock was gone. i decided to call a friend to get the time to set. THE PHONE BOOK WAS GONE.
only the scant few numbers that were on the sim card remained. i dialed the number from memory and the call went through, i then was able to set the time and the date.
in the next hour i've made a few phone calls and the phone seemd to have operated fine.
on the way home i decided to try the recorder again, surprizingly it worked fine with the regular counter of 3:00 minutes. i was able to record and play back the message.
i then proceded to erase the message and tryed to record a voice tag for Infrared. about 3 times in a row i was given a 'voice volume too low' or equivalent error message on my fourth attempt i was given a 'End GPRS connection first' something that is not even used on this phone. Then the phone locked. Restarted, frustrated i left it alone in the on condition. When i got home, the phone was completely off and did not respond to the power button.
i removed the battery and replaced it. I pressed the power button to get the blue LED lights but nothing else. after about the time it takes for the LEDs to automatically shut off, the phone turned itself off. pressing the pwer button did nothing. it can only get to the LED lights if i remove the battery, reseat it and press the power button. After that if i want them to go on again i have to again remove and reseat the battery."

detail as much as possible for their tech specialists to scratch their heads over..

this is the one and only problem that ive had with this phone. everything else i have alreday played end to end with (minus the GPRS which needs configuring) and nothing have me even a single hiccup.

then one glitch and the fone administers euthenasia, damn.

any ideas? can i fix this on my own? i cant access its firmware version anymore, but about 2 months ago it was the up to date.

thanks for any help.
