OMG I'm so frustrated...

This is the second time I've change the leds on my nokia, and this time i can't get the sodler to stick to the pad, i removed all the solder, and wiped the pads with alcohol and yet the solder wont stick to the pad, it seems like there's some sort of grey residue covering the pad.... does anyone know what this is, if not then what am i doing wrong.

I've screwed 3 phones now from changing the leds too much.

With all do respect, that hasn't got anything to do with my problem just all about led sizes.

try using sandpaper on the board to make it rough might help solder to stick

When changing Leds do you need a soldering iron with a really fine point? Or can i get away with one of those old ones from school?

i would suggest a fine one that way you wont damage anything with a huge one

Sorry for that mistake..appology...
Now to the point: Try to use some sort of flux /Cynel for exsample/ but remember that You must clean it very good after finish the work couse its conductive on this frequencis...
Good luck!
