Hello there :)

The Nokia 8910i, altough the high-end model from Nokia, belongs to the group "Series-30", right together with the 3510i and the 3530 (which are the same phone, by the way). They share the same "engine" and the same screen resolution.

That means, you may use any game which says "for 3530" or "for 3510i" on your 8910i. The same goes for wallpapers and ringtones, everything meant to be for the 3530 or 3510i is fine for your 8910i.

Do a search in the 3xxx DCT-4 forum, i know there are threads where you can download quite some games :)

And if you wish to create wallpaper images, your screen resolution is 96x65 pixels :)

Kind regards....

Hello, just curious in regards to the 8910i, it has Bluetooth, but i wanted to know if it can receive images, ringtones ect from other phones (eg Symbian phones 3650's, N-Gage ect), or is the bluetooth used for a data connection to a computer for pc suite other than infared?

Cheers :)

@gee2020

Hi there :)

The bluetooth in the 8910 and 8910i is used only for data communication between a computer and the terminal, or for a wireless headset.

It might eventually be possible to get ringtones from another bluetooth phone, but certainly not from a Nokia, since Nokia has restricted the sending of copyrighted material (such as ringtones), it just can't be done directly from phone to phone, neither via IR nor bluetooth.

And i have the feeling that the 8910i does NOT support polyphonic ringtones alltogether! But i could be wrong with that.

Kind regards.....

Funny that................my 9210i (& my really old 9110) will send ringtones to both of my 8910i's and other people who ask for ringtones. It may be old now but its a law unto itself. :)

It is strange the 8910i, it plays a polyphonic ringtone on startup, but I cannot get it to play one as a ringtone.

It has a folder for tones, but the software I have tried to use to copy accross will not allow it, saying the phone does not support it?! which I find strange, since it plays a polyphonic ringtone on startup!

Hello :)

Have you noticed where that polyphonic sound comes from? It plays thru the earpiece.... which does not have the volume capacity to be used as a ringer.

Indeed the Nokia 6510 and 8310 (both non-polyphonic) also play such a startup-tone thru their earpieces, confusing many people who think that is a "ringtone". But be honest - would you hear the phone ring if that sound were the ringer?

Almost all polyphonic phones use a special "loudspeaker" to play the ringer melodies (one exception that i know of is my Maxon MX 7921 - it DOES play the ringer with it's earpiece, and in a volume that you think your ears explode!) and have a separate earpice speaker, designed for voice frequencies. The speakerphone funktion, too, uses the ringer speaker (and therefor, the voice quality is crap but loud).

Kindest regards.....
