View Full Version : question of the cable and software.
I have a cable for Nokia 3310/3410/... which I can use logomanger to edit and manage my 3410. It works properly. So I suppose it has no problem for communication.
I want to use a flash software to fully backup the firmware. From the posts here, I tried to use both Knok95 and rolis flasher 4.79. However, the software can not find my phone after I push shortly my phone power on.
Can sb. give me a hint for this problem?
Thxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx a lot.

Hi,
U have a mbus or mbus/fbus cable, connected to the com port.
For Flashing, U need another sort cable, connected to the lpt port.

So, this means, this mbus cable can do nothing to flashing/upgrading my mobile?
Are there any software be applicable for mbus cable? :-(((

ABSOLUTELY! you can't do flashing with MBUS/FBUS cables, you should use FLASHER cable which connects to LPT1(Printer port).
1. MBUS/FBUS :
- connects to COM1/COM2/COMx.
- use as data cable, for Logomanager,
Update FAID, Reset UI, SP Locks.
2. FLASHER :
- connects to LPT(Printer port).
- use for flashing firmwares (MCU/PPM/EEPROM).
*after flashing(using flasher cable), you should set FAID,reset ui,etc using MBUS cable.
***THAT MEANS - you will need the 2 different cables on flashing/upgrading your mobile.
Good Luck!
Thank you. :)
But I heard it is possible to make myself a convertor from my m/fbus cable to flash cable. Who know how to do it self?

Hi,
Well, true but only partially.
U can make Ur own flasher print, 1 chip, 2 resistors and diodes.
All ingredients will cost about €4,-
And use the phone connection plug from the mbus cable.
The layout is in a picture called Dejan Flasher Interface around here at the forum.
Good Luck.

Thank you, NokDoc.
That's what I mean. btw, could you explain why it is partially?
