Alrighty, down to the nitty gritty. I would love to know how to load a new op logo, change the op logo, and make an op logo. I'm also looking for a good place to find Java Apps and such. Ciao.

Hello there :)

The Nokia 6800 is a member of the "Series 40" family, and it can display colour operator logos.

These have to be of a size 100x50 pixels.

There are several ways of getting one done. You can either download one from somewhere, or create your very own, using just about ANY photo software. Such as Adobe's "Photo Shop" or even the humble M$ "Paint".
Create a .gif file of appropriate size. If yoiu don't want the actual logo to be a rectangle of 100x50, say you want (like i did) only some word such as your name, in colour, as a logo, no problem. In that case, create a 100x50 (!) transparent background, on which you put your word, or sign, or whatever. By using the transparent background, you make sure your logo still got the appropriate size, but it will not interfer with the wallpaper.

Save the finished file as .gif, and that is your logo.

Now, to get it on the phone, there are several possibilities. First, and easiest, is by using data cable (or equivalent IR) and some software, recommended here: Mobile Media Browser (aka "MobiMB").
You may have it already, if not, do a Google search on it. Be aware that this program is NOT FREEWARE and don't ask here for a cracked version (Forum rules... posting AND asking for "warez" results in a ban). If you use Kazaa for file downloading, you may find there cracked versions. You then still need a data cable of type "DKU-5" or compatible to connect the phone with the computer, or a USB-IR adaptor which does the same job.

The second way to get the logo in the phone is via WAP. You need to have access to a web account which allows hotlinking, and can work with files of type ".ncl". If that is not the case, there neet to be a "htaccess" file in that account, which allows the used server to correctly identify such file type. "ncl" = Nokia oplogo colour. To get such a file, simply rename your "gif" to "ncl", such as "logo.ncl". Upload it to that web account, and download it from there, using WAP. If the server understands the ncl extension, your phone will come up with "Operator logo received", otherwise it will say "unknown file type".

About JAVA apps, you may do a search here in the forums. Do not hesitate, look in the "66xx" and "72xx" sections, since both those phones belong to the same "family" of seies-40, and any 6610, 7210, 7250 etc runs the same games and apps as the 6800. Only games designed for 7650 and 3650 are different, they will not work on your phone.
You may find a heap of games here, and also, do a search with Google. Also visit my own website at http://thanhwap.tripod.com where i have not only wallpapers and some ringtones for you, but also links to websites that have games for free downloads, and even one to a site that offers logos :)
Again, to get games to your phone, you may use either cable and software or WAP.

I hope i could help you with this.....
Kind regards
Thanh
