Username y0ke gave me an unlock code which I entered with the sim card removed
#pw+293955522101551+1#
after I entered it it said the phone was unlocked

I turned off the phone and inserted the sim card
when I turned on the phone it was locked again
I entered the above code I received from y0ke again
and it said the phone was not locked, but it still was

so I entered the code that mickey3650 posted for me
#pw+178064100622667+7#
I entered the code with the sim card still in the phone
it unlocked the phone and it seems to be working fine

What have I done and is everything going to be OK?

What is the difference with the codes eg. +1 or +7 what's the difference?

Why is it bad to enter in the code with the sim card installed?

the code 7 code was the right one...the other user did not know what they were doing..

your phone will be fine, you have not done anything that will damage it !!

the code used depends on the country and the type of lock used to lock it ..

In some Cases code 1 will not unlock your fone
it will only open grid 1
but there is sill 1 more grid to open that is why code 7 does the job

Why does the sim card need to be removed before you can enter the code

Why did the code work work for me with the sim card still installed

What could go wrong?

Is it just a precaution?

YES
It is just a precaution.
but it will not damage you fone if you did not do so
so do not worry :)
in some cases you do need to insert the code with sim card in the fone.
