UK phones have lock 1 and 2 closed. using code 1 only will not unlock the phone.

if this code doesn't work, and you are sure that the details you gave are correct, try to use the phone with another simcard, it might be unlocked already. some phones are not locked out of factory.

It means your phone can only be unlocked with a cable and software...... Phone will still be usable on the network it is locked to until then!
