If this is posted in the wrong place then please feel free to move it. Right this is going to sound stupid, but can someone tell me whats an f-bus cable and where do I connect it on my 3501i phone? Is it at the bottom where the charger plugs in or is it somewhere in the back?
Cheers.
SJ.

You have posted in one of the correct places.
I have a 3510i and F-BUS Cable adaptor. It is a serial communication device that allows a computer programme to make alterations to your phone.
It does not use RS232 (+/-10 volts), but close to TTL levels (0 to +5).
Good ones (like mine) have zener diodes that prevent voltages above 2.7 from being subjected to the circuitry of the phone, which could cause damage if the full 5 volts were applied.
The other end usually has a 9-way "D" Type connector, that goes to the computer.
Mine cost about £8 from a Computer Fair locally.
You have to remove the back cover of the phone, then remove the battery. Under that is the connection area which consists of 6 contacts on the bottom right.
Insert the battery into the adaptor, and connect to the phone, making sure it clicks into place.
Take care the foam rubber surround does not foul the contacts (mine did at first)
Turn the phone on and connect to the serial port of you computer. I use COM1.
Software, I use Oxygen Phone Manager II, and Oxygen Ringtone Workshop.
Good luck
