Hi all . I have a 3650.
I have a couple of problems.
First of all, although i only have 4 or 5 applications installed, when i click on the Application icon, it takes kinda 1 minute to open the list of application installed.
Then. Other thing that i dont understand. I have installed all the stuff i have, pics, sounds , address book on the MMC ... then... why the hell i only have 1,5 MB of free space on the phone????

What do you suggest?
Is there i way i can backup everything, i mean, sms, pics, stuff and the address book... and then kinda reset the phone as it was when i got it?
But is there a way to backup the settings, i mean the gprs access points, the emails settings and stuff? Or i would loose them?

Please help me.

Thanx.

Also... do you think that if i reset the phone and keep the mmc out of the phone when i do it... then if i put the mmc in again, it would be a kinda way to make a backup?

I have no ideas, please. Helllp .

Gabriel.

For your backup question, It depends on what kind of backup you make.

You can backup only your Settings for Email and GPRS and stuff using the Settings Wizard that comes with PC Suite.

As for having only a few applications installed, it only matters what kind of applications you have installed, and what are running on your current memory.. If you have a lot of applications running in the background (for example using launcher or autostart or something like that) then it doesn't matter if u have only 4 applications installed if all of them r running in the background.

If you want to backup only the documents and images, choose the appropriate option from the backup option of pc suite. Instead of choosing all, just backup the contacts, data, images and stuff.

A possible reason why u have less memory, is when u uninstall stuff, u might be leaving stuff on ure drive that u don't clear up.. Also when u moved everything on your phone, u might've copied it instead of moving so u have redundant data stored on your phone, instead of having it moved on to your mmc..

No ideas on removing the mmc thingy

Hope that helps

Cheers

Thanx for your answer.
Well, the fact is that the 4 applications i have under the Application icon are very small java games.
And i don't have any other "bigger" application running in the background. I don't have launcher or autostart stuff.
This is bizarre. Don't you think?

Do you think that if i backup the GPRS and Settings with the pc suite... and then format the phone , it would then be all fine as it was when i bought it?
I mean... the application i have are on the mmc. So that maybe if i format the phone, but not the memory card, it might be messy.

I really dunno what to do.
If i format, would the phone really be as it was when i opened the package? All the programs restored as they were?

I'm so scared of formatting the phone...

wat brand of mmc u use? shitty brands slow down data speed.

I have a magnex mmc. 64 MB. But it's not the point, coz it happens even if i change it and put in the original nokia card.

I too have a lot of apps installed.. Do this.. Type *#0000# and tell us what firmwire you are typing..

By apps i don't mean the one in the apps folder.. Do you have extra progs in your menu... Other than the standard icons that came when you bought the phone..

If you firmwire is less than 2.5 then you should be thinking of upgrading your firmwire..

When u give your phone for upgrading the firmwire what you should remember is that all the data in the phone would be deleted..

So you should backup the data in your phone first.. That would involve backing up your gprs settings and all.. So you have to make a visit to nokia pcsuite anyhows..

If you do your backup correctly.. You shouldnt have a problem restoring the settings to your phone and have it work like it was new.. I have formatted my phone 3 times already.. That's how u learn.. But having a working backup always helps to restore your phone ;-)

Hope this helps..

Take care
