Hi there,
When I pluf N-Gage into PC it comes up as a new hard drive and I can read/write to it fine. The problem is that Nokia PC Suite will not connect to it via USB at all, I don't have BT donlge and I wanna back up contact etc. with the PC suite. What could be wrong?
The PC must be seeing it as it comes up as an extra drive but otherwise no joy!!
Thanx

That is SO crap!! I know where contacts r on MMC in c:\Nokia\Data but in Windows it cannot see Data folder for some weird reason!! Also when sending contacts.cdb via bluetooth from N-Gage to 3650 or vice versa it will not connect!! I am getting madder all d time, he he. Surely there must be some way off copying the contacts and messages I have on my phones to a PC without using PC suite, damn thing!!

okay try this..
Backup your phone..
Go to your Nokia Directory in your computer harddrive, <subsitute the name for your phone here>, backup directory..
In that directory your will find a .txt file called filestore.dat.. Open it and find which <filename>.dat file is contacts.cdb
Copy that file and rename it to contacts.cdb on to your mmc.
Restart your phone
Open feexplorer and try to delete the existing contacts.cdb file
and cut and paste the new one on your mmc.
See if that works and let me know..
Cheers

im using XP pro and it doesnt even recognise it anywhere, not even in audio manager,i dont understand why it wont acknowledge its there. The n-gage knows its connected as it displays the lil USB icon in the top corner but as for the PC? Bugger knows
And yeah it came on thursday(ordered monday night, sent out tuesday) but i was asleep so i had to wait til friday, amazing phone and amazing tony hawks!!!

Ive got the same prob with my gage but i know how it happened. My gage would connect to the pc untill i formatted the card with win xp ie with the gage connected it showed the mmc as a removablle hard drive and i formatted it from there.
After this when i reconnected the gage to the pc and the usb symbol came up on the gage but the pc didnt even twitch. This happened everytime until i tried a new mmc card and the pc found the gage again. It would seem that if you format through the pc you loose connectivity for some reason.I have to use a card reder with that mmc now as no amount of reformatting with the gage will allow it to be seen by the pc again through the usb connection, although it works fine in the gage and card reader.
I wonder if your card has been formatted in this way before?Try a different card in the gage and let me know the outcome.
