Hello to everybody.

I found this forum while trying to update my NOKIA 3210.
At the moment I stopped because my NOKIA 3210 has a sw 5.10 . I only found up dates for sw versions 5.31, 5.36 and 6.00.
It is recommended to make not an up date with wrong sw item.
Could I do a complete flash with other sw version?
I couldn’t get a a file 3210-510B.ZIP (or 3210_510B.ZIP) from
http://gsmsearch.com/faq/nokiaflasher201.html
http://www.infocoal.ru/rclub/gsm/soft/cd_nsm/!%20Flash%20Files/Backups/

Do someone know how to get an update version for NOKIA 3210 with sw 5.10?

I also have only a connection from a com port to update the phone. Is it possible to get a flash which use a COM port? Or could I connect the COM cable with an adapter to LPT port?
How could I find out which kind of flash type I have to use for an update (i.e. intel)?

It would be very nice if somebody have some experiences and could give some tips.

Thank you!

Matthias

ok... you sound a bit confusing to me.
You have a 3210 v5.10
You want to upgrade.
So v5.31 or v6.0 are upgrades for you!
There's no problem upgrading from 5.10 to 6.0... my old 3210 was 5.10 and I upgraded it to 6.0 without problems.

To upgrade you do not only need a f/m-bus cable (the com cable you talk about) but also a flash cable... connecting to lpt port. for a 3210 it needs to have 5 or 6 pins... probably your f/m-bus cable only has 4.

The B you describe in 5.10B is for the ppm-package used... difference with 5.10C, 5.10D etc. is the languages present in the file. So you want to look for a 6.0 with the same language pack as your current phone.

Hope this clears some things for you.
On Cellular Base (http://www.cellularbase.co.uk/) you can find a step by step guide in upgrading your Nokia...

Goodluck :)
