Hello all :)

Well well well...

Just curious i've searched around looking for details of what exactly the KI and IMSI are/do but no joy anyone care to enlighten me please?

Would be much appreciated and what format are these numbers in? As in are they in pares... do certain digits have to add up? is there a certain algo to them both?

Cheers very much

Mike

well as far as I know, Ki is hex string and imsi is just a number.
They are used to register a phone(better I say the simcard) on the network from the provider you are connecting to. Those numbers indentify who you are (and so determine how many prepaid money you have left)
and so the providers register you minutes called send sms.
this is not totally correct I think.. but it's a good way to imagine how it goes...

Erm... ok yeah kid of gathered they were numbers that made you individual on the network and such : - )

Did a little research and basically the IMSI is just incremented by one and has no such agorithm in my mind anyway, as i have several OLD sims that are business ones, that are infact incremental and their IMSI's are all just incremented by one.

KI's on the other hand... understand its a hex number, is the KI the number that actually identifies the "PHONE NUMBER = SIM CARD" u recken? And the IMSI simply is a number to call the simcard by.

I found an old contract sim from YEARS ago and believe it or not it was NOT barred : ) And i could make calls etc, but stupid me i got carried away and barred it while playig with the sim, so at the moment im having another little research and finding out the KI and thus cloning it and getting the SIM card back in action! Im using CARDinal 6.8 though as SImScan v2 said some error about PIN1 :- (

Anyway i'll keep you informed and appreciate any comeback

Cheers
Mike
