Sim card registration failed

hi. i recently got an 8310 off my mate which was locked to orange. i downloaded a dc4 calculator to unlock it so i could use my O2 sim card but when i managed to it says "sim card registraion failed" can anyone plese tell me how i can fix this because i am pulling my hair out :sad: please post a reply or e-mail me at [email protected] (Use the subject NOKIA 8310) Thank you.

'Sim card registration failed' usually means that the phone has been blacklisted by the networks because it has been reported lost or stolen.

It can only be removed from the blacklist database by the person who reported it missing in the first place.

Or it is because of non-payment of a contract

no, my friend gave it to me because i really wanted a 8310.
damn :sad:
he said that all i needed to do was "unlock" it which i did but still was blocked.
is it also possible to block the phone if you entered the restriction code wrong more that 3 times?
