Hi to all, I'm quite new of this board. I'm from Italy and my name's Massimiliano. Sorry for my Eglish.

I've a question to make to everyone can help me. Before trying to flash my 3310 I just want to make a backup copy of my original firmware (4.45). I build a Mbus cable and a Dejan Flash cable. They works properly. Now the strange things. If I use "Nokia DCT3 Flasher & M2bus tools by Rolis ver 5.14" I cannot read firmware without errors. If I use "Nokia DCT3 flasher by rolis ver 4.78 (build 006)" flash seems to be read without errors. I use same setting on each program (like signal inversion and delay index). I ever obtain a CRC error (or checksum error, I forgot) when I use 5.14 version. Does anyone know what's can be wrong?
I'm using XP pro with userport.

Thanks very much to all who whant to help me.

CRC error? Must be checksums then, open your flash in genolite 2 an click on Fix All Chks and save your file, if you've already edited your original backup 5.14 with a program there's a chance that your backup is corrupted...

I never was able to explain in a clear way in English.... sorry.
Version 5.14 is not my firmware version. It's Rolis software's version. My firmware is 4.45. What I like to know is why when I read with an old software version (4.78 build 006) everything seems to be ok while reading firmware with new version (Roli's 5.14) I have a Checksum error. I don't have edited nothing for now. I just want to know why a software works and other don't. Firmware readed by old version is ok or simply Roli's 4.78 don't check checksum?

I hope that this post is clearer than first one...

Again sorry for my English

So 5.14 is bugged.... and you suggest to use 4.77 or 4.79 but I've 4.78. I will search for that version. What's wrong with 4.78?

Thanks a lot to everyone has replyed to me.

Hi,

What's wrong with 4.78?

That doesn't do 8310's.

But besides that, it is my favourit...

Ok people, I made how you says me. I used 4.7x

Now I can read firmware without errors.

Now I've another problem. When I open fls file with g3n0lite 2.0 I obtain the message:

"Because we MAY locate the MCU & FlachCheck
via the filesize when other methods fail, the EEPROM may get corrupted.
BUT you will be warned in the log window when this happens"

This happens only with my backup files and not with fls files downloaded.

What's this? I read also a flash from a 3310 version 6.07 and it give me some "skipped" at the end of the process, while my firmware version didn't. Any idea? Thanks again for your patience.

Trash your old 4.xx firmware, there are more newer version that works fine!!! Why stick to the old one that generates a lot of errors, when you can have new one????

Why you says? Because having a backup copy of our own original firmware I think it's a good thing. Then it's an exercise on how to read correctly an existing firmware... what you think?

My old firmware never give me any trouble.
Is there a list of firmware-bug-bug resolved?
