hey,
can anyone tell me what are the advantages of flashing 6100 to a higher version say V5.16... wat changes could be expected.. if theres some site where the info is available pls let me know.

Changes/improvements made from MCU SW version 4.70 to version 5.16:
- Call and network management:
- If ALS is active, activation/deactivation of call waiting via menu is done for both lines
- Auto answering call in CARKIT-126 is no longer dependent on state of car battery
- Messaging:
- New menu item "Use detail" in MMS Inbox -> Options
- Browser:
- Continue WAP session after downloading a midlet is possible
- Games and Applications:
- Bounce version updated (1.13 -> 1.17)
- Converter II version updated (1.7 -> 1.
- World clock II version updated (1.9 -> 1.10)
- Java:
- "Check version" menu changed to "Update version" in options list
- SIM:
- AT + CIMI command is supported
- Auto-reboot when using specific SIM cards is prevented
- Storage of multiple OTA settings possible
- User Configurable right Soft Key has been added
- Go to -menu with sub-menus have been added
- Personal shortcuts sub-menu in Settings menu has been added
- Additional Phone book -menu has been added
- Calendar improvements (View successive days of notes with fewer key presses possible. Improved way of scrolling through notes)
- New icons is power saving mode have been added
- Numeric sign (\\123) has been integrated into the header text when entering the following editors:
- Countdown timer
- Clock
- Date
- Alarm clock
- In Settings -> Tone settings: Ringing volume + Keypad tone now shows bars instead of a list
- Copyright info for tones have been attached

thanks mate... i am currently using a v3.22 as my phone is a year old now... and i guess that wa the first version it started with...so i guess there will be a lot more changes that you are saying... i think its worth getting it falshed... i was just worried... that if u change ur original software and something goes wrong then phone is dead... but i guess i can do all experiments on it now coz its old now.... hey wat r ur recommendations for 6600... is it a must have or should i wait for some other model ???
