Pic files can't read on my pc, I used Photographer v2.02

I used PC suite to transfer files to my computer, but I can't read the pic files. They don't seem to be in jpg format like the pics created by the camera program that came with the phone. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to get them to be jpg or is it just not compatable?

what format are they?
i used photographer a while back and i had no problems transfering them

I just know when I transfer them I can't read them on my pc. But just this second I decided to rename it and add the ext .jpg and all of a sudden it worked perfectly, hummm. Wonder why it needed me to do that.
