Migrating Contacts Using PC Suite 6600

i'm stuck

i have backup my contacts from my 7650 using the 7650 PC suite..
already trade in my 7650 for 6600

now that i got my 6600 i can transfer the contacts over using 7650 pc suite...

how do i do the transfer thanks

please help..

i got all the backup files tried copying to the 6600 backup directory but it simply won't workl

can't live with an empty phonebook...

or is there a way that can open the nokia backup file?
i don't mind opening it up and keying the number manually into my phone..

Just send them to ur phone using IR or BT

You could try finding the contacts files in the backup folder, it is called contacts.cdb. Once you have it send it to the phone and try and save it in the c/system/data folder, overwriting the old one. It might give you an error saying file in use, if it does, try doing the same thing in safe or flight mode. Tell me if it works, if it doesn't there is another way but it would mean you getting a shot of someone elses 7650/3650.

the problem is that my contact.cdb in the 7650 pc suite is compressed in a *.dat file...which i'm not sure how to uncompress it..

i tried copying the files from 7650 pc suite backup directory over to 6600 pc suite backup directory then do a restore on the "contacts"..was successfully transferred...but when i tried to load my contacts in my 6600 they prompted a corrupted database error....

Hi,

try this:

Enter the 7650 phonebook and select Options->Mark/Unmark->Mark all. All entries will be checked.

Then select Options->Send business card->Via email (it's the only choice). A new email will be created with one VCard for every phonebook entry attached to it. This procedure may take a long time, it took several minutes with 297 contacts and the resulting email was about 250Kb.

Now send the email from the 7650 (e.g. via GPRS), receive it on the 6600, save the attached VCards and ..voila!

Install the data suite for 6600 and you can get your contacts from 7650 to 6600

Nokia PC suite only supports transfer of contacts phone to phone. I just did that two days ago. But I'm not sure if it supports backup files stored on your PC.

I've also back up by 6210 files, but didn't find use for them.

PC suite first ask you to upload the data from the source phone, then prompts you to connect the destination phone after a few minutes.

Install System tools by PSint, reboot your phone into flight mode, and establish a link with your PC, then using a windows based file manager like (EpocWare's File Manager or something), overwrite the contacts.cdb file. Reboot your cell normally and it shd work.
