OK i'm thinking of buying 8210's second hand from either e-bay or Loot upgrading to 8250's selling them off and making lotsa money - im sure im not the first person with this idea....

I understand only 8210's with a certain RAM version can be upgraded

How can i find out (WITHOUT using a cable) the RAM version??

I mean like..... are certain versions of 8210's a later ram version?
This would be good cos i could ask them to check the software version of their fone (*#0000#) and if it was say V5.26+ that meant it was upgradeable to 8250

If so could people contribute and tell me their software versions and RAM number

Thanks everyone

1 way of checking it without a computer is to open up the phone and look at the MAD02(CPU).
ROM 5 is V18
ROM 6 is V16

i dunno bisdak about £120 i was thinking

cos second hand 8210 cost me say £50
Change leds to blue - £25 (cant be bothered experimenting and doing them meself!)
And software upgrade etc etc...

Maybe less - im not sure
Although only few features are added to the 8250 MANY people are williing to pay quite a bit more...

There are many phones above 5.28 that are still ROM5

If they're 5.28 out of the factory, 8/10 it's ROM6. Unfortuneatly, most are software upgrades, or exchanges at Nokia service points, so the odds of ROM6 phones are slim.

Go to the *#war0anty# menu, and check when it was made. Later than 06/01 should be ROM6 hopefuly
