Problems upgrading software on 3310

My phone is a Nokia 3310, and had software v5.79 - I tried to to upgrade this to v6.07 following this guide (http://nokiafree.org/forums/t31346/s.html).

I backed up my phone from 0x3D0000 > 0x400000, before starting.

After selecting nhm5ny06.070 as my MCU and nhm5ny06.07e (assuming the E in the 07e means English) as my PPM I flashed my phone.

Phone restarts, and will only display Contact Service. I thought okay, part of the process....so I updated the FAID....nothing! I guessed then I should reset the software, so I reset the SP locks.....nothing, just same message!

I tried to restore my phone to it's original state using my backed up FLS file - which won't even allow my phone to turn on!

Hopefully somebody here can help me!

Look dear You must falsh you phone from 200000 to 3D0000 with MCU+PPM flash file and the backup you have is for your EEprom only so just download the flash file and flash it to your phone then update faid and reset factory settings

I've gone through each of the language packs, and all of them produce the same error (see attatched image).

Looks like I fried my phone! New phone time since nothing appears to be working. :-?

I tried using Knok Phoenix Build 1 and tried the Check and Fix Checksums but it tells me it "Cannot prepare phone" - here is a log in case it helps!

So far so bad!

I got my friend's Nokia 3310 - which I took a FULL backup of. I saved the backup to my phone. Okay worked to the extent that it said "Sim not accepted" (or similar message - can't be bothered to look again :evil:).

I soon realised that my friend's IMEI number was transferred to my phone. Ok, so I'll just look at the silver sticker and transfer it from there. But nnnooooo.....when changing the chasis a few months back, I took it in my hands to peel the sticker off the old chasis and transfer it to the new one - doing so, corrupting a few essential numbers! :-x

Okay, so I'll just dig out the box I thought I stashed when I moved.....but it seems the box was disposed of when I was moving!

I've given up now, I can't really be bothered any more now - all hope and will to try and rescue it has dissappeared.

I had my 3310 for just other a year - it was a nice phone, did what I wanted and I was happy away servicing new parts to it. But a month or two back the temptation for a new, budget-ish phone was lingering.

So I used my logic, and ordered myself a 3510i - the logic being that I deserve a treat, I desired the upgrade, and the phone has a total of £35 free credit included with the total cost (including the free P&P) of £99!

All in all - yeah, I'm pissed off, but pleased to think a new phone could be with me soon.

Hey you already backup your eeprom so it has your original imei...make a clean mcu+ppm+your eeprom file and open in with nfree and read your imei from it the change the imei using rolis 1.8

So I save the 5.79 flash files (nhm5ny05.790 and nhm5ny05.79e) to my phone then rewrite the EEPROM?

Perhaps you could give me a quick run down on what to do, and what programs to do what with. I've learnt the hard way that I can mess my phone up, so I'd appreciate your help.... .

look use this program to convert the mcu+ppm files to one FLS file to use it with rolis flasher then open this file with g3n0lite and kill mcu and faid checks then save the file and flsh this file to your fone from 200000 using rolis flasher then flash your eeprom backup from 3D0000 using rolis then switch on your phone and use nokiatools 1.9 to update the faid and then reset factory settings...

this is wat i gone throught for the first time using the thing...
It scare the shit out of me...
I thought my hp is doom...

I think is my cable problem too when sometimes i find it very hard to read my phone...
some how i use other program and try and error a lot of time to make it work...
at least my phone is now functioning...


but i find out it still problem when i try to reflash..

Guess experience and guide will help..

is u can't use the current sw use other...
I use something like cyber*** software... [previously rolis 5.47]
but i think it more user friendly..
