IMEI is '351514005753566'
Type 2
Provider is '23430'

Verify the “IMEI” number is the same as the fifteen digit number at the very top of this post by dialling *#06#.

Power down phone, wait 15 seconds, remove battery, remove SIM. Replace battery and power up – “Insert SIM Card” displayed.

Type the following as instructed:

a. #
b. * three times for “p”
c. * four times for “w”
d. * two times for “+”
e. Type the 15 digit code (Carefully!)
f. * two times for “+”
g. The number “1, 5 or 7” (Whatever corresponds to the last digit in unlock code)
h. #
Message such as "Phone Restriction Off" displayed if correct code entered. Code is unique to only this IMEI number/phone. You have 5 attempts to get code right.
Please respond with results.

Virgin - T-mobile are understood to be UK. I don't reckon there are any other countries where that is the case.....

tried that code twice and got "Code error"

I would first determine if the phone is unlocked at all by placing another SIM in it. (VODA, O2, etc)

If not, someone will generate a code #1 for you. Don't enter codes more than once if you are certian you entered correctly. You have only 5 tries.......

Regards...

Code error again :o(

Does it say "Code Error" or "cannot undo restriction"???

You have two more tries (provided you have entered three codes), and after that you will need a cable.

Are you sure the phone is not locked to just Virgin???

Code error again :o(

Cyber,

I would wait until morning and get a firm consensus from everyone else on the board before entering any more codes. The last code posted didn't agree with my Calc. for any of the virgin codes.

I have a feeling that it is possibly locked to one of the following Virgin provider codes:

23400000 or 23400001

Just make sure you have everyone here on the board in agreement before you go on with any more codes, or you might be stuck with the cable/software method.......... :-|

It could be that he's locked to something completely different, or that a #5 code would work. In any case, he's down to just a few....

For 23400001 I'm getting:

#pw+192504020027303+7# (Cyber, Don't enter this unless everyone agrees on it, or another code)

Alt0208,

Maybe wrong Dongle?????

I just don't want him to use all of his chances

Well it's was bought from virgin mobile and the sim is a virgin mobile sim, and it says "Code Error" with a stop sign, not "cannot undo...".

thanks

Cyber,

If it says Code Error, and not Cannot Undo Restriction, you have more tries. Enter the code that I posted to ALT0208:

#pw+192504020027303+7#

Crashynot got the same code as well, and he knows what he's doing.

You very likely have a phone unlocked to Virgin (extended code).

Please post your results in any case, whether you use your cable or not.

Thanks

Brilliant!!!!!

I was getting worried about it. You didn't need the cable after all. In any case, the cable is handy to keep around. You can do alot with it, e.g, with rolis software.....

Cheers.
