DCT3 Remote Unlocking -Beware!

The codes generated for DCT3 only open lock 1.
So for example I can't unlock some Orange UK phones by code.
I have also had trouble with One 2 One.
Please be aware that we are some way for the definitive 'unlock DCt3 by code' solution.

currently this problem is only with uk networks, hope this will be solved soon..

T-Mobile and O2 are the only UK networks that use only lock 1, and Vodafone contract phones also. Orange, Virgin, and Vodafone PAYG all have a second lock and hence do not work.

Fido Canada also use a second lock for DCT3..

So do you think it will be possible to generate a code to free lock 2 on Orange, Virgin, and Vodafone PAYG ? Or will we have to wait another 3 years until no on cares about DCT3 any longer!

according to griffin team (the ones who made the siemens clip that generates dct3 codes) the algorythm for calculating code 2 is more complicated than the one used to calc codes for lock 1, so no one can tell when exactly when it will be possible to calc these codes.
we all hope that it will happen soon, but currenty - this is how it is.

if you happen to have one of the phones that has lock 2 closed, you may pay someone to unlock it for you (should be about 5 pounds) or buy a cable..

I've been looking for the network code itself and for TMobile USA there is a few codes, 31016, 20 etc, how do I know exactly which one it is? Mine is in California, area code 415?

And is there any way to find the network code directly from the phone, like the IMEI?

t-mobile usa (and all the other usa phones) have only lock 1 closed, and they can be unlocked with codes.

about the network codes, there are more than one network code for t-mobile usa, but using the code 310-20 always worked.

you can read the network code from the phone only with a cable, but if you already have a cable you can just unlock the phone directly.

I think this will hardly help but I just unlocked a 3410 that was on Orange today. It entered code #1 and it worked but I live in Romania so that's why I think this isn't exactly to the point....

you can get unlocking codes with lock1 and lock2

u can also use mados (only lock1 at the moment)
