WAP Site Password Protection

After some help if anyone is any good at it.

I've tried doing this before with the aid of a tutorial.

I'm after protecting a wap site for example http://www.yoursite.com/wap/

I want 3 users for example:
user1
user2
user3

with passwords:
password1
password2
password3

I can add all the above in, but presumably I'm doing something wrong as it won't allow me to log on using any of the id's i make up.
