I think I did everything correctly and I have gotten the code error twice. I haven't tried it again.

IMEI: 350984200494194
Network Provider: Cingular in USA -- I used 31017 as the code
Model 6310i

the code I tried twice was:

#pw+155814074330516+7#

I think I entered it correctly both times, could I have the wrong provider? Phone is new.

thanks

I got the code error for that also. When I used the code calculator(s) that I downloaded, I got these codes:
IMEI is '350984200494194'
ASIC Type is 2
Provider is '31017'
Box serial is '32820'

#pw+327136347563332+1#
#pw+058933674621235+2#
#pw+052263671064564+3#
#pw+997862013500765+4#
#pw+908462120646362+5#
#pw+022833745020431+6#
#pw+155814074330516+7#

The code I tried was the "7" code. The code you have provided is the "1" code, except you say "#pw+317..." and I got "#pw+327..." Neither of those worked either. So at this point, I have received the "code error" message 4 times.

I am not sure that the phone is locked -- is there a way to tell? (I don't have a sim from another phone to try). If the phone is not locked, would I get the code error?

try a sim card from another network in the phone to find out if it is unlocked

crashy's code is correct...it is always code 1 in the usa

I'll try another SIM card at work on Monday.

Regarding Crashy's code, why does he say to use the code
#pw+317136347563332+1#

And if I figure out the code myself from either of two calculators that I downloaded (yaDCT4calc or DCT4NCK) I get the code
#pw+327136347563332+1#
(317 vs. 327)

I'm confused but I won't put in any more codes until I try another sim card.

Is there a way for my phone to tell me (numerically) who the service provider is?

thanks

your calculator is using version 1 code where as ours are using version 2..

just tried with version 1 and got the same code as you

if you want a free version of the software I use go here on this forum

QUOTE]If you are saying that the calculators that I downloaded a few days ago from the FAQ Forum are obsolete and provide incorrect codes, I think that the moderator of the forum should remove them or update them. Isn't that essentially giving people a bad calculator that will lock up their phone? Is there a reason that version 2 is correct and version 1 is incorrect?

thanks, but I'm confused.

codes V1 usualy work on older fones like 3510 and the code loks like this
V1 = #pw+4 7 2847506020742+1# this code has +1 on the seconde digit
V2 = #pw+4 6 2847506020742+1#

these are the diference
and the code to use is V2
works on all fones
you must just take care on the type ( type 2 & type 5 )

they will also give the wrong codes if you use the wrong type for the wrong fone !!

post relyIt says "code error". But I tried it in a different phone -- a second 6310i. Is the test code above,
#pw+385216716314117+1#
specific to the IMEI from the first phone? I'm afraid to try it in the first phone because I have already had 4 "code error" messages. The IMEI of the second phone is 350984200494202 and the provider for that phone is also cingular 31017. If there is a different test code for phone #2 please let me know and I'll try it one more time.

thanks
