Series60SkinSupport Required???

i have the n-gage and i was trying to install the climber theme but it doesnt work. a message saying, "series60skinsupport required" keeps popping up. is there a way to make my n-gage support series60 skins?

u cant put skins in ngage, onli 6600 has tt function. not unless someone cracks a prog for 3650/ngage.

now this would be cool, slauncher is good, but extremely battery draining and only limited to the menu screen, if we can find out more about this skinsupport then maybe.........

There is an app in the Z:\ drive called "series_60_theme_support.sis
probably you can find it with fexplorer or eFilemanager
thats what i read somwhere
maybe somone with a 6600 can post it here or even mail it

i found the file MATESSSSS but it's so small and i don't think it will work
it contains only one file...... i copied many install things from the 6600 Z drive.... working on it...

i told u... hehe there is something spoky with the 6600... but mann when i explored the 6600 i said to my self there must be some way to flash the 3650 with the 6600 flash files.... it have to work... there is no big différence between thease two...

ive just found a proggy called skin editor which should wotk on the n-gage

im bout to try it now

I think that program only lets you create skins for smart launcher, not actual themes. I hate smart launcher - it screwed up my phone twice.

theres that themerizer being created for s60 phones that lets you create mini themes for 7650,3650 and n-gage

Wait and buy the Themerizer. It will be released in the next few weeks (I think). It will be awesome for 3600, 3650, 3660, 7650 and N-Gage!

Some additions...

In The SymbianOS 6.1 (ex: 7650,36xx,N-Gage ...) operating system's structure cant :( support native themes. You cannot change GUI elements, resources... (The OS Graphical Kernel (AVKON) cant support it like Win3.1-2000)
The 'smart launcher', 'themizer' and other programs (kill the original 'lookandfeel' manager) can hook all system messages and try to emulate theme feature but it to dangerous... (i think)

SymbianOS 7.0(s) or above can support native themes (almost zero system footprint like XP), screen saver pluggins, multiple line management, and more!

i hope i dont step on anyone with my question...

but could i ask, is themizer a hoax or not?

the beta program that was released for making the themes is really possible coz i myself can make one of those. with sis unpacking and repacking.

what i would really want to know is how the program for the symbian phone is being made. Because i attended recently a "Forum Nokia Developers Workshop" held here in the phillipines that explained how the series 60 phones work.

the 6600 is Symbian 7.0 (series 60 platform 2) and the 7650, 3650 and other phones are Symbian 6.0(series 60 platform 1). the difference between these 2 platforms are very huge. like for example, the themes in a whole new different layer from the user interface. they added this layer to support the skin function. now for what i understood, the only way for u to use themes on 3650 and 7650 is for your Symbian OS to have that additional layer. which programmers cannot reach because it is inside symbian already.

now i need someone to confirm or disagree with what i said...
and if you disagree, can you give proof that this could really be done?

because as of now, all we can see are screenshots which can be easily made in photoshop or other image editing software. you could give us a beta version of the application for us to see for our selves right...

i just dont want all hopes to be up...
