You should check if it already unlocked. i.e., Try using other sim card and see if it works.

When I bought my n-gage/t-mobile usa it was already unlocked

if you donot have any sim card to try
use the test code
it will tell you if the fone is loked or not !

because we don't know about how often there was a wrong try, DON'T give the advice with test code if you don't know the product code of the phone and you checked this back - a test code counts as a try

i have just tested the test code on a locked 3510i 6 6100
6 times and it did not lock up with "Cant Undo RESTRICTION "
and on try 7 i unlockedit by code
so i dont know why you say that counts as a failed attempt ??????? :-o

that isn't true! how should phone detect, that the code is test code? it's simply a wrong code!

have you tryed a test code on a Locked fone
Wat do you get
Fone RESTRICTED and not code ERROR
as far as i have tested only code ERROR counts as a failed attempt
And i have try that several times since you started saying that test code counts as a try
till now i have not managed to Undo RESTRICTION with test code
