View Full Version : UK O2 settings for 6600 GPRS/MMS

I was wondering does anyone have the settings for GPRS/MMS on o2 for UK? I tried getting the settings sent to me by o2 and by Nokia but i still can't seem to send photos. I have 2 set up.. ill list the settings.

1st Connection

Connection Name: O2 MMS
Data bearer: GPRS
Access point name: wap.o2.co.uk
User name: o2wap
Prompt password: No
Password: **** (i assume default)
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Connection security: Off
Session mode: Permanent

**Advanced settings**
Phone IP address: Automatic
Primary name server: 0.0.0.0
Second name server: 0.0.0.0
Proxy serv. address: 193.113.200.195
Proxy port number: 8080

2nd Connection

Connection Name: O2 WAP GPRS
Data bearer: GPRS
Access point name: wap.o2.co.uk
User name: o2wap
Prompt password: No
Password: **** (i assume default)
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk
Connection security: Off
Session mode: Temporary

**Advanced settings**
Phone IP address: Automatic
Primary name server: 0.0.0.0
Second name server: 0.0.0.0
Proxy serv. address: None
Proxy port number: 0


Any help would be great. Took me forever to set it up the same for my 7650 and Vodafone.

EDIT: Just tried sending a photo message to my phone.. and it arrived as a text message with e URL saying i have to go there and view it.

Mate, i've given up with MMS on my 6600.

I'm using 2 SIM cards and they both don't work.

I just use the e-mail feature, it's basically the same thing. Just sucks when the other party can't retrieve e-mails from their phone, but at least they could view the picture / video when they get to a computer.

The advanced settings you've got for MMS should also be the same in GPRS. I can sucessfully send MMS with my 6600 on O2 PAYG. Also, cos I'm on PAYG my username is different its not o2wap its payandgo I think.

Ok I just got my 6600 phone on o2 but I could not to anything via gprs, I phoned up o2 and they turned my gprs on but they said I would not be able to send picture messages!!!! How can on Vodafone you can use both ie send pictures and surf the web on the phone...explain that.
