Wrong java version loaded in 6600

Hi guys,

this is my first post here. I did something stupid and Iám now trying to salvage this.

I installed some of the games from Yuppo's group on Yahoo. Some of them worked !:) Other were giving problems. They were all installed on the mem. card. I formatted the card.....now my problems is that I have the shortcut icons still on my phone :(
I can not delete them in normal way or with the build in file manager. This file manager does not see these files/shortcuts.

I am told by Nokia support that this is because the 6600 does not recognize any other java (games/apps) then the J2ME !!

Can someone advise me what I should do or install to get those empty shortcuts of of my phone ?

reinstall the games, den delete from the file manager in ur fone. it shld work.

if the above step doesnt help, get a file manager like fexplorer or seleq, (seleq works on ur fone), go to c:/system/app, delete from there.

Reinstalling does not work cause the games were not intended for this 6600 phone. It simply does not recognize this java version

I'll try the seleq app and delete it from the root.

Any idea where to get that app, in which group ?

I tried the app (seleq).

I have moved all my empty icons into a folder called 'Troep'

Seleq can not find (on any of the drives) this folder ?

Any suggestions ?

Sorry, there is no TT folder in any of my drives

By the way I have c: d: e: and z: (being the phone itself)

No folder called 'Troep' or TT unfortunately....

any ideas ?

i think your folder troep is in the e:/troep directory :-o
if it's not i don't have an answer to your question, can you say it more specific what you did, and can you say it maybe in dutch too cause my english is not that good :D

Ik heb eergisteren een 6600 gekocht. Toen door mijn domheid een paar games geschikt voor de 7650 geinstalleerd.

Met het normale toepassingen beheer probeerde ik ze te uninstallen
Dit werkte niet, kreeg allerlei foutmeldingen. De nokia helpdesk vertelde mij dat wanneer ze op de card staan dat ik de kaart kon formateren.
Dat deed ik en alles was inderdaad weg. Behalve de icoontjes/shortcuts naar de apps/games toe.

Die stonden op het menu schermpje van de 6600. Nu krijg ik deze zeg maar lege icoontjes niet meer weg. Ik heb ze tijdelijk verplaatst naar een map die ik 'Troep' noemde, dan heb ik er minder last van zal ik maar zeggen.

ik wil dus die lege iccoontjes, zonder app/game simpelweg verwijderen.

Zelfs de folder Troep kan ik met het appje Seleq niet vinden, ik snap er niets van.....?

hmm kijk met e filemanager of ze read only zijn, dit kijk je vinden door op het bestanden en dan properties te klikken, misschien kan dit ook met seleq maar dit heb ik nooit geprobeert. als je read only zijn zet dit uit en je kan ze verwijderen, is dit niet het geval dan zul je alle belangrijke bestanden op je telefoon moeten opslaan op je pc of zo en je telefoon formatteren door *#7370# te typen in het bgin scherm zorg er wel voor dat je je telefoon op de lader zet of genoeg stroom over hebt want als je battery leeg is tijdens het formatteren dan is te telefoon flink kapot. als je hem hebt geformatterd is ie weer precies zoals ie was toen je hem kocht, formatteer je memory card dan ook meteen effe dan is ie weer helemaal clean en zitten er geen andere fouten meer op. :)

look with e file man if they are read only, look if you can find it its under properties, iuf its read only change it, you can remove them now, if this is not the case try formatting your phone with *#7370#, make sure you have enough battery cause your phone will be dead if the battery runs out during the format, if you ahve formatted your phone you can also format the mmc maybe there are some other files on it too

Kun je die telefoon wel formatteren ?????
ben altijd een beetje bang dat de boel naar de klote gaat !

ik weet dat het over een 6600 gaat, als je hem in d lader doet tydens het formatteren gaat er niks mis hij is dan gewoon zoals je hem kreeg in de winkel, ik heb het al iets van 5 keer gedaan met mijn 3650 en ik ben er zeker van dat het ook zo is met mijn 6600, er gaat niks naar de klote als je maar zorgt dat je genoeg batterij hebt of in de lader dat is wel erg belangrijk

i know you are talking about a 6600, if you put it in the charger during format nothing will happen, it will be just the smae like you bought it in the store, i did it about 5 times wqith my 3650, never did it on my 6600 but i am sure it will be the same with my 6600, only watch out you have anough battery or put it in charger
