Hi all..

well, made the fatal mistake of flashing an incorrect software flash version to my 3310, now the phone is very much dead.

I have taken a full backup using Knok, as I only have the flasher cables, not the com port ones..

Any ideas people, on how I can get it back to a usable state?

Every time I try and flash the full backup back again, it says Cannot Prepare Phone.

Thanks again..

This is the message I am getting using Knok..

FLS1_ConfigurateBootstrapDCT3 : checksum is 4A8B
FLE5_DirectInitialiseBootstrapDCT3 : Press power on (if needed)
FLS1_GeneralSendBootstrapDCT3 : bootstrap seems to be running
FLS1_PreparePhone : invalid NMP returned in phone RAM
FLS1_PreparePhone : detected NMP is NHM-5
FLS1_GeneralSendAlgoCodeDCT3 : checksum is BB8F
FLS1_GeneralSendAlgoCodeDCT3 : algo code seems to be running
FLS1_Write : written block (4 bytes) starting from 00200034
FLS1_Read : read block (256 bytes) starting from 00200000
CMD_handlecommands : cannot analyze phone

How do I change the NMP?

Thanks again..

Try to use the XP MOBILE PRO or NOKIA FLASH TOOL or
FLASHER v4.77 by Rolis. If it doesn't work try to use the
DEJAN Windows Base. flash it with a good flash file.

HOPE IT HELPS !!!

There is no need to change the NMP.
First make sure that the phone is turned off before pushing the power button. Then, if it still says 'Cannot prepare phone', restart your computer. I can't think of anything else right now... Oh, sometimes the battery doesn't contact correctly the power pins of the phone. Remove the battery and the cable and put them again in place.
I hope I helped.

I faced this problem many times, this solution works 100%.

Since you have a full backup (MCU+PPM+EEPROM), use Knok (Any version) to erase the flash (200 to 400). Then flash you full backup again (200 to 400) to your phone, it will work. You only need the flasher cable, no need for MBUS..

Good luck..

I faced it, too, but the problem is not this... Read carefully the 2nd part (jamo replied to himself)...

Hi all,

Hmm, I am still not having any luck with this damn 3310!

The situation is that I only have windows 2000, and the flasher cables, so using different versions of Dejan that dont work under W2K dont really apply to me.

I have tried everything I know, flashed eeprom, no good, maybe the start address is incorrect? What should it be?

I cant even reflash my old backup, as per my dump of message above.

Thanks again people.

Just another quick question..

I have another 3310 with a different dw version, if I take a full flash of this, and write to the dud 3310, will this work using Knok?

Thanks again, I seem to be posting to my replies more than anyone else!!

Why don't you try it? Make a full backup from the working 3310 (MCU+PPM+EEPROM address 200 to 400) and try to flash it in the dead one..

Good luck..

OK, tried this..
1. took a full flash from the working 3310, v4.24, and saved it, then flashed it to the dead one. I used a start address of 200..

Now, the phone is basically in the same condition as when i got it, ie sim card not accepted.

So what I need to know is, is all I need to do is flash a .fls 4.24 to the phone?

Anything else i need to remember?

I flashed my working one a couple of months ago, however can't really remember the steps..

Thanks again people..
