Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between the flash file and the flex file ?
What exactly do they do ? and how close do they operate ?

I think that this is an excellant question because i can't find much on the subject !!

Does anyone have the files for a v66 (unlocked/europe) ?

TIA

Basically the Eeprom is divided into 2 sections..

One which takes Flash (type) files and the other that takes Flex (type) files.

The 'Flash files' contain the MCU Data and Language Files.. So when upgrading 'firmware' you MUST upgrade mcu + lang pack together. Language changes can be done by themselves however they must be from the same version firmware.

The 'Flex Files' contain phone menu functionality and enhancements. These will give the phone its 'personality'. Motorola sets these up based on the specs from the carriers.
Having the ability to access or not access certain functions is done w/the flex files.

We are NOT aware of any Unlockers for the v66 that do NOT require a dongle. You can flash/flex the phone but you will NOT be able to unlock it without a dongle.
