7110 Flip has flopped!

Hiya folks

got an old knackered 7110 - broken screen - dodgy flip - missing mic

fitted new screen - fixed flip and cant be arsed getin new mic

all working ok now except...

Anyone with a 7110 will know that you can answer calls by simply flipping down the flip or closing the flip will have the same affect as the red button and cancel whats on the screen - ie to cancel call etc

But opening my flip or closing it has no effect whatsoever

Anyone know why or how to resolve this??

Yo Slikmik ...

You may have to go inside the phone & checkout a SMALL switch that should be there ... it will probably be switch by either of the 2 silver metal sliders that are attache to the flip itself ... this is a guess but as an electronics nut I would think this would be the way it's done ... i have a 7110 also ... there definatley isn't anything on the outside ...

TIP: To stop the MIC from crackling grab some switch oil & give the contacts a good clean with some antigrease agent i.e alchohol or similar [the stuff that dosn't melt plastic obvioisly] then put a few drops of the oil on to the 2 gold plated strips and work it in by sliding the flip up & down vigorously ... this solved the crackling problem perfectly ...
