Is there any prog that can read the serial number of a sim card?
All sim cards have one... to be recognized.

There's 2 numbers to identify your sim...
IMSI, very easie to read
KI, take a long time to read from sim as it is encrypted and need to be "cracked"
You can use sim_scan to find both.

sim_scan is a prog? Where can I find it?
Ofcoarse it's a prog...
Dejan (http://users.net.yu/~dejan/download/sim_scan.zip) made it...
For questions on this prog I suggest you go to simcloning section... as that's what the soft is used for.

Plz tell me how to use it.
I connect my phone to COM1, select com1 in the prog and, when i press F1 or F2 or anything else, it crashes. I have WinXP (if it matters).

This program is not used by thru the phone!
You must have a phoenix interface connected to a comm port and have the simcard placed in the interface.
Please read the readme for more information

Well... There is a little problem here... I connect my phone to the serial port and, when i press Start extraction, it says 'Depress NO briefly'. What does it mean? After a while, it says '3 expected'. What is wrong? My phone is turned on and PIN request is disabled. Ah, i'm using WinXP (if it matters).

Is it a Flasher Cable?

:( Why? Does it need a flasher cable? The program searches the COM ports; not the LPT. I have a flasher cable, though, but i don't think it will work. Has anyone tried the prog and it worked???

It gets nothing! Whenever i press the 'Start extraction', it first says "Press NO briefly" and after a while "3 expected" and stops. My phone is turned on and disabled PIN request (as the prog instructions say).

Who's talking about Ericsson here? This is Nokia forum.

@user32
Don't you read what the software displays??
The soft is called "GA628 powered Simcard KI Extractor
It's written very clear in "kiext12" soft that is uses an ericsson GA628 as interface to read the sim. Not a Nokia...
Who's talking about Ericsson here? This is Nokia forum.
You started this topic yourself about sim serials... that has to do with simcards, not with Nokia right?

I didn't know that "GA628" is a phone for Ericsson. I thought it was just the prog's title.
But the current forum and thread concerns Nokia phones.

yes but you didn't ask anything about a nokia phone... You asked question about sim s/n *sigh* That has NOTHING to do with nokia now does it?
Well... let's give it a rest anyway, this is getting nowhere.

Hmm...
Technically this is a Nokia board (Nokia Flash Reverse Electronic Engeneering), but we not only discuss Nokia as other brands...
I like to think of it as a General-GSM forum.
Anyway, this specefic post would fit better in the SIM Cloning section, don't you think? This information would be most user-accessible there.

Ok, you're right, it is a Nokia, but here you asked for a program that could read SIM card through phone, you didn't ask for a program for Nokia now did you? Someone replied that the program that could read the SIM card through phone was kiext12, you then posted that you had a problem with is, then you were indicated that it was for use with the GA628, so I don't see the problem here, you asked the question, you were answered, isn't this what the forum is all about?
This post should be in SIM Cloning anyway... :)

Dave
