On eBay, I recently sold my old Nokia 6590i phone that I unlocked (originally on the Cingular network) with a code from this forum. The buyer now claims that the phone freezes up everytime he tries to call or receives a call and says the reason why it's doing this is because the phone is unlocked.

Is there any validity to his claim? Does unlocking the phone with a code cause freezing problems in a Nokia 6590i? I tested the phone before selling it, but I don't think I ever made a call (just turned it on to make sure it got a connection with different providers).

Please help... Thanks.

Nope complete and utter bullshit

The old DCT-3 unlocking method could cause it (partial flashing)

but with the codes its the same way that the service providers unlock the phones.

I have unlocked 100's of phone over the last couple of years by codes with no problems. the only time I have had a problem was when the customer entered the codes wrongly or used the wrong code.

So don't give in the buyer might of dropped the phone.
