Flash cable/Flashing questions

I've already got dual bus kit coming in the mail, and I've been looking at what I should do to get a flasher cable. Ideally I would buy one with LPT -> PS/2 connector, so I could use all the adapters for the different models that I already have.

I could also build one, and searching through the forums I found a lotta info about his... I got all the 74HC14 cable schematics and stuff... But I also ran into several confusing discussions about how 74HC14-based cables only work wtih Dejan flasher 1.0, and how these cables cannot flash the MCU, meaning they cannot upgrade the software version. Some of it was not in English, so it was difficult to understand.

So I was wondering, is this true? Because it would really suck to have a flasher cable but not be able to upgrade to the latest software versions... And if so... Do the flasher cables that are bought "commercially" (i.e. off ucables.com, m99.co.uk, etc.) also have this limitation, or are they based on something otehr than the 74HC14 IC chip?

The schematic based on the 74hc14 is the right one... it's the "Dejan Flasher" as sold in every webshop. This will allow you to backup your phone, and flash new software on it.

Building it yourself is a nice option, it's not hard (only 6 components) and much more statisfaying than just buying one :)

In the old days you needed a Dejan BOX to upgrade software, based upon pic 16ce625 but those days are over, now you need normal flasher and m-bus cable.

One more question before I head out... Does anyone have the schematic/pinouts of the PS/2 female plug? It should be pretty simple, I just need to know which of the 6 pins are GND, RX, TX, +VCC, Btemp, MBUS.. tahkns!!1
