Maybe fun to use it once or twice but after a while you'll probbebly ditch this in one of yer dark dusty closets and never look at it again.
And BTW what's the use it only has a 10m reach so when u go beyond that border ur car stops...
Just don't bother it

damm, you guys are such kill joys.

oh and its a matter of software not hardware. if some overzellous programer got his BT Dongle to intercept the signal(posible because it doesnt use a secure connetion) and anelised it it would be quite posible to replicate it
fun for the whole family :-o

Ur full of crap!
Ever tried BTing wif another phone?
Probebly not cos the reach is indeed a little more than 10 meters maybe 11 but certaintly not 100m!!!!
And it's not a software problem u nummskull the chip in the phone itself determines the reach!
And if it was there would be millions of BT extention programs!
I'm afraid the only kill joy here is YOU!

relax my friend, actually, i dun see much fun in controlling a car via bt. i rather play wif bt remote tt can control a tv wif bt, tts better, and i dun need to align. and its hardware mind u, not software.

Ok my apologies for being a bit on the rude side, but he said we where kill joys while he doesn't even knows where he is talking about.
And BTW if this becomes a hit (doubt it but who knows) i'm sure there will be a program for the S60s too.
I mean it's technically possible and BT is BT there is no difference between BT from a SonyEricsson and a Nokia for example.
But even if it was possible i'd rather buy the N-Gage instead of wasteing my money on something this crappy...
I think this will be somekinda customer attraction, u know like: Buy the p900 and get a FREE BT Car with wich u can control with your mobile phone!
I can almost see the banners.
what i also so see is : useless piece of fresh crap nr:285237334

Jesus Wouwz, calm down. Smoke a spliff or something.
Sirwoggle is partially right.
There are two classes of bluetooth; 10m and 100m. If you buy a 100m bluetooth dongle, your phone will work within a 100m radius, correct?
when using bluetooth via 2 phones, the phone's bluetooth chip has a 10m radius. Both phones can only detect each other in a 10m radius.
But if there was 100m bluetooth chip in the car, then it might be possible.
By the way, I could be talking out of my arse hole here, as I am quite baked (white widow....he he). If I am, someone correct me and I will styick several sharp, aids infected needles into my chap's eye.

well, johnny, some guy, Yeskia on tis forum, he said tt some bt dongles haf ranges of 100 m, and he said tt they work in tt range.
Don't see why you're all excited about controlling a car using BT. With the price of the BT car you can easily buy a decent RC car and control it beyond the 10m range :D
Not to mention that when the p900 first came out the BT car wasn't compatible w/ it... until SE provided an updated application that is :D

Not sure if you got it or not ;)
Bluetooth is a 2 way communication kinda like a walkie talkie.... if one person has a pathetic 1 mile walkie talkie and somebody else has a 10mile walkie talkie put them 2 miles away and the one with the 10m walkie talkie can send to the 1 mile person but he cant reply (out of range)
In order to get 100m both bluetooth devices would need to be able to comminucate up to 100m :/
Ive seen bluetooth adaptors now that work up to 250m away which is quite intresting :) it depends on the power quoted is about 10m but an unobstructed line of sight can be up to 15m
It's actually not immediately obvious what kind of range you could get if you mate a class A Bluetooth device with a class B device.
For example, with wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) you could have a huge central antenna that has a 1 mile coverage. Then within the 1 mile circle, you can get signal with any type of short range antenna.

Some bluetooth depends on its class! Class 1 bluetooth have a range of 300m specially MSI.. I dont know other manufacturer

an RC...what i would really like it to have a program in my 6600 that can replicate the radio frequency of my car's keyless entry remote, so i can use it to open the doors of my car....this was possible from a palm device but you would have to mod it and add some special chips in it....
but of course if someone would develop such a thing for the symbian this would also pose a security threat to car owners....hehe
Remote entry uses radio signals not bluetooth
