Hello, I am new to the forums. Must say I like them, they are in my favorites now! I just have a couple of questions

Phone: Nokia 3650

1) I don't have an Infrared reader (except for my Palm M515, but thats slow) or a bluetooth adapter. However, I do have a SSD slot on my computer. My question is, how do I install apps from a .sis file that I transferred to the card?

1a) If I can't install straight from memory card, how can I install from my Palm?

2) Can I change the startup logo where there is a handshake?

3) How do I transfer my contacts from my Palm to my phone?
Thanks guys

1.) that might post a problem. 1st u may need a file explorer installed in yer hp. then if your sd slot in yer com can read n write on mmc, transfer all the .sis, .jar/.jad files into yer mmc card. under any folder. The open the files using FExplorer. if u cant install or dun have FExplorer u may want to vistt
www.tagtag.com run a search on symbian or nokia 3650.
u can actually download the FExplorer.

1a.)cant install frm plam if im not wrong. Do a check with others. Am not too sure.

So u will definately need to have gprs to download Fexplorer frm wap sitez

I just found an answer to my own problem! You are correct, you cannot install ANYTHING without a file explorer, which must be beamed to install (until now :). I found this on a website:

You can install fexplorer this way:

1. Get the SIS file onto your computer
2. Rename it to fexplorer.JPG
3. Transfer it to your MMC using the card reader, to the Images folder
4. Open "Messaging>New Message", and select "E-mail message"
5. It will ask for a Mailbox to be defined. Here enter any junk values that you want and save the settings (neat trick )
6. After saving the settings, you can create an E-mail message. Here, choose the "Options>Attachments" and "Insert>Image". This will allow you to choose the image that you want to insert as an attachment. Browse to your MMC's Images folder and select fexplorer.JPG file that you copied earlier.
7. After the attachment is added, select it and choose "Options>Open".
8. The operating system recognizes that it's actually a SIS file and installs FExplorer!!

I got it from http://www.nokia3650.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6315 and I am going to tell the guy I posted it here. I highly recommend you make this a FAQ item, since I spent hours looking.

I have tested this and confirmed that it works.
