hi guys! i just want to ask you guys if its ok to use the Ir for transferring data from pc to 6600 and vice versa frequently. ive been transferring data and i fear that someday the Ir on my 6600 might get broken due to frequent use. do you guys transfer files and data frequently too? does your Ir still works perfectly?

Yeah card readers are very quick, just like transferring across ure PC drives, similar speed. If you cant afford bt, i rekon infared, because if you ever sold your 6600, you can use it for most other decent phones on the market. Not all have mmc and sd cards.

well, tts a veri good choice, its indeed the fastest way to send files like songs and movies, but its veri troublesome to take out ur mmc all the time. since u haf the irda to install app, juz get a mmc card reader for the real big files. plus, its cheap too.

Man theres no issue about overusing your INFRARED port, and i would recommend not to get an MMC car reader, but get a bluetooth adapter man, coz like Infra-red most new "hi-end" cellphones are coming out with support for bluetooth, infar-red is slow as comapred to bluetooth plus the issue of lining up the devices is also irritating. Don't jst think of bluetooth as a mechanism for trasferring data, bluetooth is really good for wireless interet via your PC -> cellphone link, and also for applications such as Remote s60.
So think about it.
Cheers.
