I received a GIF via bluetooth and now my NGAGE wont work. After viewing the GIF I lost all my signal strength and had to reboot. Now it only gets to the standby screen (without wallpaper) before crashing. Because I dont get chance to get in the menu I can't delete GIF ot restart factory settings. I don't know if I can take it to an authorized dealer as I have cracked games in the memory. Also I foolishly hadn't installed any firmware/antivirus software. Iv'e only had the phone 1 month and it's on 12 month contract plz help............PRETTY PLEASE!

no problem in taking it to an n-gage agent just leave the mmc out as that is were the games will be.

you could also try taking it back to where you bought it.

I have downloaded Java and Cracked SIS programs and stored them to the phones internal memory. Cracked Ngage games are on mmc but saved files ect save to phone and not the mmc. Also I got the phone from a internet company and I think I have to send it direct to Nokia service center for repair.

Don't worry about the Java and SIS games. Its only the N-Gage games that are the problem.

Cheers m8 i'll try that. Am I right in thinking that flash means to replace the bios in order to make the phone boot up, leaving programs intact. Or does it completly wipe the memory. More importantly, is it expensive.

You're exactly right. Flashing replaces the bios and basically reinstalls the SYMBIAN operating system. You'll loose everything you have stored on the phone's memory, but your memory card should work fine.
In most cases, flashing will upgrade the firmware, to fix bugs and add new features from previous versions.
It's not expensive and if your phone is under warranty, which is 18 months from date of purchase in Ireland, and yours is (they won't bother checking), flashing is free. Just bring your phone and proof of purchase to your nearest Club Nokia Service Point and they'll do it for you.
