is there any way or programme i can use to compress mp3 file to my n-gage or do they just have to take up the mb as they do on the computer?

Try lowering the bitrate of the MP3. I lowered mine to 56kbps, and it has the same sound quality on my N-Gage. I used Musicmatch Jukebox 8.1.

48kbps MIGHT also be okay, but I would just use 56kbps. There is no need to have the standard cd quality 128kbps for your MP3s.

dbPowerAmp is a good freeware app.. Why don't u try AAC files, they are smaller than the a comparable quality mp3.. 128kbps would be smaller in AAC format.. I think you get the decoder on dbPowerAmp as well..
