Flashed but Still no reception

Hi all,

I seem to be having problems flashing the phones I have.
For example, I have a 8250 with "contact service" being displayed. software version 5.02

I make a backup and note the IMEI and then flash it with 8250 v 3.20 using rolis 4.71.

Afterwards it displays " sim card rejected " when I insert a sim card that is working.

Then I using eepromtools 3.1 to unlock it by pressing the button that looks like a lock. Then I change the IMEI back to the original one.

After all that the phone accepts the sim card but has no reception.

I've tried rewriting many times but still the same result.
What am I doing wrong?

This also was the result when I full flashed a 3310 and 8210

flash it wid the latest version flash 5.06. use rolis flasher build 6 den update faid by rolis nok tool.:D

You may need to update FAID, download noktool or using KNOK phoenix build 1 to update FAID will help.

Yea, i've tried using nokiatool 1.8. --downloaded from this site
to recalculate FAID also .. .still the same problem
what am I doing wrong?
Is it the version that I'm writing ?

maybe your flash file problem, try to do a full backup and post it here, so we can test it for you. or you can download one from nokiafree.org/download site. all the file there should be 100% no problem.

And for noktool, the step is change imei, update faid then follow by sp unlock..

try to change the imei to orginal using rolis dont forget to check the box beside the imei then update faid :) :) :) :) :)

after so many flashing and updating of faid still no signal ok i suggest try to use winddp faid update then after still it exist, maybe u can try to start some reheating and troubleshooting on hardware let say ur haggar..etc part of signal..

I just find it really frustrating that I have yet to
full flash a phone with success.

Still have some questions

1)what is the best FAID program to use? For 8250 and 8210's?


2)How do you guys usually full flash a phone?
flash from 20k to 40k?
then rewrite IMEI and FAID it . ..or

flash from 20k to 3Dk?
leave eeprom alone and FAID

I agree with Spider-x. Don't flash the eeprom unless there's absolutely no other option.

I think some phone specific tuning as rx/tx are stored in eeprom. (not 100% sure about this)

been trying this all week...

finally flashed a 8890 that was "contact service"
back to the original state

one question though, I use NokTool 1.8
after I flash with MCU + PPM
phone has no reception, then calculated FAID,

but how come MSID keeps changing after I update FAID.??

I sometimes have that when mcu checksum is bad. It doesn't give a cs but can't calculate faid (don't aske me how this is possible... it happened to me 2 time after editting with nokhex). Try to fix mcu checkusum with rolis 4.78 or nfree1.2prototype or nokhex1.04

Be sure to keep also you original backup safe somewhere!

I've been searching for v5.06 8250, but no luck .. .
where can i find mcu +ppm for it? or just a full flash file?
