here is someone who doesnt know what free source is.
he isnt selling phones with flash or something of that kind.
only selling a dam flash with mados (hard work from many respected users here at nokiafree)

to "dont know" selling ohters work will always violate a copyright...

and as long theres no special copyright notice or license, he MUST NOT
sell this since automatically the coder(s) have the copyright on it...
so theres NEVER any chance to sell it if the author(s) dont give explicit
copyright...

I think it would be a good idea if m-99 offered an actual flashing service of the MADos file. It would be easier for some of us to send off our phones (cost permitting).

Well we will see how it turns out with copyright because I have sent a MADos flash file to a Leonnard Johansson of Nokia to see if adding it is in breech of their laws.

I must say, he was very appreciative when I explained that we needed an email confirming ownership of flash files and the law about ownership of the unlocking algo used.

Will let you all know the outcome

well....

1. MADos is an operating system... wheres nokia code in it? so how could i violate their copyright then? give me the lines nokia has copyright on and i will remove them...
2. flashing a phone would not violate nokias rights on it..
3. the algo used contains nokias algo? oh sorry, is it patented? could i get the international patent# please? if you (or nokia) give me that number then i must remove it of course, thats no question.. im no thief...
4. even reverse engineering is allowed since the processor and the hardware used is NOT nokias own patented stuff... so rev. eng is allowed to understand whats going on
5. the guy u mentioned is not at nokia, he's an ericcson guy rofl....

Wasnt the original discussion about how m-99 were doing something bad. They said sorry. I think thats ok, but i didnt play any part in writing MADos or modifying these flash files. I think it should be peace to all for the new year :smile:
