Hi,
I phoned Nokia to ask about upgrading my 6310i firmware so that I can use the 3rd party Bluetooth dongle in my PC.

They gave me a local address but said that the store would charge for this as the upgrade is not "essential for the working of the phone".

This means that I may get it free if I have a good reason.

So, can I please ask you lovely people to help me with an excuse that I can give to them without admitting what I really want it for but that is "essential"?

Thank you very much,

R.

What version are you using at the moment?

I'm on v5.22 and went into a nokia store and just told them that the phone is having problems maintaining good communication over bluetooth (keeps connecting then disconnecting straight away)

They said come back in 1.5 hours and we'll flash it with the latest firmware for free (it was still under warrenty).

I went back to be told the phone would take the new software and that they would have to send it to their 3rd line technicians to have it forced on but thats another story.

its simple, tell thme your a driver for a night shift doctor, and you get patients calling you when you are driving, and that the old cable typed hands free kit comes in your way while driving, also you need to log all patients details on the phone and transfer them to the pc a high speed, thats why you need bluetooth, ............

....... its worth a try

1. Phone resets itself without any reasons
2. Flash phone with wrong software so it doesn't boot anymore
3. Phone hangs when connecting to a Bluetooth device
