Startup animation...

Does anyone know a way of changing the startup animation of the 5210 (or any other for what its worth!).. I know you can just bung a picture into it or some text but I think it would be really cool to be able to place another animation instead! ;)

try using the guide on my site :) i know it works on 3310.... but not sure if all the software is compatible with 5210 coz it's new.

or ppmedit 0.90 is meant 2 b able 2 do it.... but u have 2 buy that version :(

PPMEdit (since the ver0.9) can edit ALL graphics(inculding battery and network icons, startup animation) on ALL DCT3 phones. But U can use only when U buy it. U can buy it a few days later.

So U talk about changing the 7 animated to 15 like in other types?

Overwrite the silly ones that are behind the normal 7.

Then U must trace the calling procedure in the mcu.
There must be a 07 there to make it 0F.
And maybe change some pointers in the data for the ending definitions.

But anyway, it seems like to be a very possible to me.
Only to find the calling procedure....

Hi,

Nice U noticed this chars width and screen position.

That was actually why I sended this bmp. ;)
I didn't do my best on the actual drawing, just for this test.

What I did:

I made the layout of the seperate characters in logomanager.

Then I converted them as 8 bit pixel rows to bytes on a Casio fx115.
Like the original battery:

011111 00 = hex 3E
110001 00 = hex 23
110001 00 = hex 23
011111 00 = hex 3E

I replaced the normal logos with mine in a hex editor.

Then I changed some logo definition bytes to make the bars all show at 4*8 bits now.
I had to replace the screen location definitions for the right row of bars.

I did the same for the battery and network logos to 4*16 pixels.
And also replaced them to show 1 pixel lower.

More detail on the battery logo:

Find the logo, at 0FC15C, there U can edit 12 bytes however U want, as 1 or two lines of 8 pixels.
To make it visible U have to set the default size from 05*06 to 04*10h
Those values are at 0FC16C.

I replaced the battery now 1 pixel lower, so I could make the 4th Barlogo 8 pixels heigh instead of the default 6.
That is done by replacing the 501F to 5020 on location 0FC174.
(50h*20h actually means pos x80 & y32.)

I hope U understand this?

I only do 331x-557, no request others but do it Urself please.

Otherwise forget this and wait for a tool to come. :p

Small Correction in text:

For edit battery is max 8, the 12 is for the network logo.

U can divide to 1 line of 8*8 [12*8] or 2 lines as 4*8 [6*8] pixels.

Hi,

I have a new layout.

Do note I now use net and battery icons of 8x16 & 6x16 pixels!!
And the keylock logo as 24*6

Even nicer now I found a possibility to add some 64kb of tones/ logos or whatever.

By using the spare data between the mcu & ppm for own info.

Btw, anyone had succes?

Howto use Ur own 557 ppm: (a 555 ppm will do too)

- Rename the mcu to mcu.fls
- Flash the ppm from Ur phone, from 34.0000 upto 3D.0000.
- Rename this ppm to ppm.fls
- Now press the command line > copy /b mcu.fls+ppm.fls MyFull.fls
- Open in ppm manager, recalc and save again.
- Reflash and set faid.

Remember to make mcu+ppm+eeprom backup first!

Rite, according to me, there are three animated startup logos in the flash. the nokia hands 1, human technology and interis.

so...

is there any other program or is there someway that i can choose the interis (or whatever it is) logo (because it has more frames to edit).

OR.....

Is there n e way to sort of combine all the animations 2 have 1 big long 1 - with about 23 frames.?

Go to wnite's page(don't quite remember how's iot called)And get that startup logo selector.Then choose the original one and set it with an f/m-bus one.Now you should have the original animated one or an animated one you've made.

There is modified NokDoc's flashfile , actually it's very simple to change BAT and NET icons. But why did you, NokDoc, changed MCU checksum addres in your flashfile (part2) ? You thought that nobody would be able to change your flashfile ???

In fact, I did the opposite. :)

It's is DEAD now.
U can change whatever U like in mcu and still not have to recalc the mcu checks.

Ps, do always calc the flash check in eg ppm manager after mod's, since that is harder to deactivate. (yet?)
