Hey all,

I just got a new Nokia 6800 yesterday, I've tried charging it for several hours but its not powering up yet.
I was about to package it up to return as faulty but i read in the O2 book that your mobile needs to charge for 24 hours before you can switch it on. In the 6800 manual it says you can start using it within a couple of minutes of charging when connected to the mains.
Charger works on another phone so I know it works - do u think the phone is faulty or does it need a full 24 hour charge before switching on?

Cheers!

Hello :)

You got definitely a faulty phone..... i have yet to see the first brand-new Nokia that came with a dead battery! Normally any new phone you can power it on... you will have to charge it, but still you can power it on to see if it works!

At least from the moment you connect the charger, you should be able to power up the phone.

Does it indicate "charging" by showning the battery graph moving upwards on the right display side? Or does the display stay black and not react at all?

Eventually your battery is screwed instead of the phone. But anyway, since it is new, return it :)

Kind regards.....
your Thanh

hey thanks!

The display is totally blank, i've put it back in the post today for an exchange!! are these 6800's worth taking out insurance on? has anyone had a problem with reliability on this handset - the dud phone new out of the box has knocked my confidence in it!!
