6600 vs. upcoming 6230

im quite eager to buy the upcoming 6230 of nokia. Just wanna know your opinions the 6230 vs my 6600. Tnx pipols!

Yes infact i also very keen on 6230 although im currently using 6600

Why i like 6600:
6600 [208x176] has larger screen than 6230 [128x128]
6600 is MIDP2.0 (good for j2me developer)
6600 is a symbian phone, can install alot fun and rubbish applications

Why i want 6230:
6230 is smaller yet have VGA cam and MMC card
6230 has EDGE and faster GPRS
6230 can play MP3, has FM radio, stereo

No it isn't, its S40.

Frankly the 6230 is no comparison to the 6600, one is symbian one is not, need i say more? ;) :D

The only reason i would buy a 6230 is to use as a "night" phone, ie. to go out with, but for my "everyday" phone, i'll keep my 6600 no questions asked.

If only the 6230 looked like the Black T630

Nothing like a symbian, i mean after using a symbian phone i don't think anyone can comfortable adjust to any opther phone.. Plus the only way to add applications and games is by JAVA, and thats not as good as Symbian

what i am sad about on my 6600 is the sound, i wish it was stereo.. and its midi tones dont sound as good as the sony ericssons... but of course you can't beat being able to install so many cool games and programs.. its like a little computer :)

stupid money hungry nokia should put it all in one instead of making you choose :)

yeah i agree.. that was one thing i noticed first about the n6600... i thought i already have a stereo sounding phone.. but alas.. mono mono mono.. thats why im still keeping my SEt610.. just to listen to good midis.. ey guys! u did help me make up my mind.. i will no longer be sellin my 6600.. instead maybe il just buy the 6230.. whew, another pain on mah pocket.. :lol:

The 6600 and 6230 have the same camera.
I have both phones, and each has its advantages and disadvantages...
6600= +higher res, bigger screen
+Symbian OS
-Fat
-Mono sound

6230= +built in stereo MP3 player
+small
+EDGE support
-non Symbian
-lower res screen

Overall, I prefer the 6230 simply because of its size. While the 6600 has a great screen and more potential, its just too big to keep in your pocket. I like phones that I can put in my pocket and not have people think I have a raging hard on. Thats just my 2 cents
Also, if your thinking about getting a 6600, take a look at the Siemens SX1. It has all the same features of the 6600, except its a little smaller. Only bad thing is that it has a goofy button layout.

buy a 7610 instead, better camera , is a symbian phone to install more apps , big memory , 4x digital zoom and is a 1 megapixel phone i know i will get this when i have enough money

nahz, its not a symbian fone, symbian is the OS running in series 60 fones, series 80 fones, and other fones of course.

the S in front merely stand for "series".

in fact, the 6230 is quite a promising fone.

My friend has a 6230 and i tried it for some minutes...


MP3 Player- The best thing is its stereo! it sounds really great! the 6600 has only mono.

Camera- its not that good to see it in the phone...maybe on the pc? but the camera quality is not good as the 6600

Design and shape- Small, classic style...i got some problems with the buttons...but im sure you can deal with it.

Video- i didn't take video clips but i played the video...the qualty is good but not as the 6600.


But the things that interested me in the 6230 is the MMC support and the stereo MP3 player and the small, classical style.

Like most I couldn't have any phone that isnt Symbian after experiencing the 6600. The only problem is it's bulky to go out with, and the ringtones don't sound as good as on my T610

i was wonderin' if the nokia 6230 have a zoom like the nokia s60 fones in their images? 6600 is great but it's really bulky though, and the sound isn't too good... I'm looking forward to this nokia 6230...

We cannot compare the 6230 and 6600 because they are entirely different phones with different purpose. It depends on your intended use of the phone. If you like small, basic phone with loads of features, go for 6230. If you like versatile, programmable and highly-customizeble phone, go for 6600. But for me, I still stick to 6600 because its symbian, I'll wait a little more before replacing my 6600. Nokia will be releasing about 40 new phone models this year, one of them might be an "N6600i"! :D :D :D

after using an 8310 and 8910 for sometime the added bulk of a symbian phone is actually a blessing in disguise my hands dont hurt as much trying to push those darn small buttons :-P

and i couldn't imagine playing games on a tiny screen compared to the big screen of the symbian phones and i dont think i can live with a camera phone without handy photosafe installed :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

nah, after i use symbian phone, of wat use is normal dumb fones? its stupid, i mean, look at the price!? its soo expensive! nokia is using this gimmick to sell these fones to less IT savvy pple...

well, i got mux pple in my singapore that uses 6600 jus like a normal fone... these pple are jus so smart..... y do they wan a dinosaur egg-shaped n size for a normal fone.... thay prob oni use their brain to breathe.
