with this tool u should be able to make small changes in ur flash and only flash smaller flash file with changes

this way u dont need to wait too much

in flasher by rolis u can only flash files that are multiple of 64kb, so, i made this tool to resize it

it should work

test it please and post here ur comments / bugs.

BIG THANKS TO SPACEIMPACT

Edit:
New v0.2 (Previous version generated invalid Flashing Address)

a few instructions:

u will only need to make 3 steps:

1. Open full flash file
2. Slect the new file file size u need by increasing n*64kb value
3. select the starting offset of old flash where new flash will be copied.

i hope u understand it. i think its very usefull. post ur comments

crux, i think you should make the tool in this way:

Select the 2 files, one is modified, one is not.
The tool scans both files, and upon finding the first difference, note that position.
Start scanning from the end of the file, and find the position of the first difference

do (last_differece - first_difference), and round it up to the nearest N*64kb chunk size, calculate where to offset the chunk when flashing (maybe rolis can sstart flashing from anywhere, so the offset would be the address of the first difference)

then say to the user "A small patch-flash has been created. Flash this file at offset 0xNNNNNNNN", and it will be as if you flashed with the whole new file. DO NOT flash from 0x20000000"

you can see cjard's idea in Partial Flasher that can be used together with KnokPhoenix
maybe it can give you more clear view on cjard's idea
