I personally would update the firmware version to the latest one using a flasher cable and Rolis Flasher 4.77, then I would use Nokia Tool by Jordik 3.03 or 3.21 with the F/Mbus cable to set the set faid, imei, factory resets, whatever...
The cable you have, is it auto switchable or manual? Ie: does it have a switch to F/M?

Autoswitch cables have never worked for me, I don't know why...
However I don't even know why the FBus function exists... what's it for? Nothing ever asks for an FBus cable...
Yes, if you have a program that detect and auto-switchable cable then you can change IMEI, try Nokia Tool by Jordik v3.03, if that doesn't work, do tell.

as far as my concern the FBUS is just for UNLOCK and reset security password and editing your logo, ringing tones, picture message using other software such as Logomanager and Oxygen Phone. Where the MBUS more like Flash cable function is for engineering repairing such upgrade EEPROM, version and etc.
Correct me if i am wrong.....

as what i know, the propose of datacable is not for changing ringtone, logo at first.the datacable is for surf internet using notebook and h/p use to dail-up.
later some "hacker" find out that it also can use to program the phone than it start up changing ringtone, than picture.and flasher to change the software.
Correct me if i am wrong too.....

Hi there,
If you still can received call, i am quite confident that you have accidently activate your fixed dialing. Go to setting>>security>> and set fixed dialing to off.
The fixed dialing purpose is to set a desire number that you can call and you can give your phone to anyone your friend/collegue. The person who borrow your phone can only make call if you have store the number at Fixed dialing.
If your fixed dialing setting already off, than you need to feedback to us.
rgds,

use mbus for changing imei.. for me, fbus never works.
i would correct one thing.
nokia did phones keeping in mind that there would be harmless datacable that user can edit numbers and sms, then they did this "multimedia" thingy..
eg. for nokia 2110 there was original software and cable for editing numbers & names in sim and keeping backup and also could write sms from pc.
but, with that cable, you can't program the phone. and it was fbus cable, because mbus can be harmful if used wrong :)
fbus is meant to transfer information, mbus just for changing some bits.
somebody correct me if i'm wrong :D
i'm not sure about how flasher cable works, but i think it's like mbus used to tell where is information being transfered thru fbus..
flashing phone is done in blocks, am i right?
so those blocks goes fbus, and information where they go goes mbus?

Hmm...
At least you've got down to the point Charmot :)
Keep in mind that what you want to do is Illegal (change IMEI) but anyway, Rolis and Jordik also change the IMEI... Sometimes you need to modify the phone IMEI when you update the phone, in that case all you need to do set the original IMEI, but you're talking about a stolen phone... You're at your own risk.
I knew that if you heard voices then it had to be network-related :)
Anyway, take care and be careful.
Regards,
-Dave
P.S. What I meant by update is actually conversion (example: 3310 to 3315)
Hi
i bought a mbus/fbus cable from logosunlimited.com and its auto switch, but the mbus bit doesnt seem to work...
It works fine with LogoManager but that uses FBUS, but it doesnt work with Eeprom, NC Calc etc. which use MBUS.
I really want to unlock my 3310, and change IMEI etc., anyone got any ideas? is there anyway you can achieve this with FBUS?
TIA

Hi
I'm fairly new to unlocking etc but have just bought a new f/mbus cable thinking that eeprom tools 3.1 wasn't working on my old leads because when I click read/unlock/engineer there was always a message like phone not connected or cant edit ppm but on my second click it always seems to work so it may not be an incompatible cable. Like I say I'm no expert this is just my experience so far.

In DCT3 phones, MBUS is used to access the EEPROM. It is also used to unlock.
FBUS is on the other hand the choice for LogoManager, Oxygen and other high level phone utilities. MBUS can be used in this purpose as well, but FBUS is faster in this area. Thus, FBUS is used.
MBUS is very far from FLASHER cables. And so is FBUS.

When an operator lock a phone, it can't get any signal at all! This means you can't make any call, outgoing or incoming.
You can't make an outside call maybe because...:
1. You are using LINE 2.
2. Prepaid? You are out of credit.
3. Postpaid? You have accumulated too much bill already. Payup!
4. As pointed out, you may turned te "fixed dialing" on.
5. You have activated the call barring.
Check with your operator. You may want to check your phone manual also.

Hi
I have tried lots of various unlocking software, yet with no luck....is there ANY unlocking software that supports auto-switching F/MBUS software?
TIA

You should show your cable schematic to someone smarter. I'm pretty sure that you could modify the cable to have a manual switch instead of automatic.
