is there any way to use a mp3 as a ringtone by converting it or any other means

Yeah, .wav files have a tendency to be pretty large. What you need is a program along the lines of Cool Edit (www.suprnova.org under applications, or search at www.novasearch.net).

You can resample the .wav file to 16Khz, 8-bit, mono and save it as an ACM waveform. Click options before you save the file and select GSM 6.10).

convert it to .amr by using Nokia MultiMedia Converter.

it gives u a size that is smaller than mp3 gives u

juz send mp3 via pc suite, it will convert to wav for u, and its v small in size, 1 mb plus.

I used to upload my mp3 files and the pc suite converts it. Now something's wrong coz it stopped converting the mp3s, insteads it copies it directly to the phone. :sad:

what u have to do is go under control panel in the suite and click the file converter icon. a small window will pop up with settings to choose which audio/video files you'd want to convert automatically to phone format files. if that doesn't work, call me stumpy!
