I am getting a Nokia 6600, a 256mb MMC and a MMC reader next week. I have downloaded a few apps and games on Mirc already so I will be able to put them on the phone straight away but I am a bit confused with all the file extensions.

The extensions in the thread title are all those I have came across while downloading Apps and you can add .blz and .kitty for those I got with games. What are all these files for and how do I put them on my phone using File Manager? I have "blizzard_ngage_installer_v1.0" installed before you ask.

I hope that is all the info you need to know to answer my questions.

Cheers.

ok mate
first up you should get another file manager tool like eFileManager or SeleQ File Explorer... that way you have more control and can see more than just what nokia wants you to see...

.blz is like a zip file made by the blizzard guys, you need to put that in the root directory of your mmc, which is E: when you use a file manager

.nfo is just a little text file with where your file came from

.sis is the nokia install file, these files you just send direct to your phone, and you'd normally install to your MMC

.app files are the applications for your phone, usually when you get one out of a zip though its a crack, you use your file manager to paste it over the old one in your E:\System\Apps\(Application) directory

it might take a little getting used to, but if you know how to use a computer, you know how to use a 6600 :)

I reckon SeleQ is better. It has the colours yellow and blue! lol jks

With SeleQ, you can set some *bmp pics as operator logo and mark/unmark files ... easier copying, cutting and pasting lol :D

Nice explanation smithdogg.

But if you need help in installing Blizzard games, have a look at this attachment I wrote.

Btw, after you downloaded the Blizzard Game Installer ... it comes with a file called "hello.kitty"

That file is unneccessary and can be deleted. Its one of those things that crackers/programs add alongside to their creations.
